The tolerance is set after the finish.
Revolution BBs are machined aluminium — chosen for precise bearing alignment and long-term smoothness under load. The alloy housing is machined again after anodizing, so the final seat dimensions are set after the finish is applied, not before it changes them.
The result is a shell that fits the bearing correctly from the start and stays that way.
